The Norwood Park Estate has enjoyed a rich and varied history. Today, our Estate is run as a diversified commercial business to support the Estate’s ongoing running costs and preserve its beauty and heritage for future generations to enjoy.
Norwood Park was first mentioned in the inquisition of Archbishop Neville’s property in 1388 and has seen many owners throughout the years.
Norwood Park has remained privately owned since the 1770’s and has enjoyed the residence of many families, including the Marquis of Carmarthen, Lord Edwin Hill, the Starkey Family, who are the current custodians of the Estate.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional events, stays and experiences. Our venue has won a host of awards for our efforts, including winning Best historical Wedding Venue in 2023 from the Wedding Industry Awards, a Hitched ‘Best Venues’ award for 2025 and an SME News Business Elite Award for Nottinghamshire’s Country Home of the Year 2025.
We are regularly featured in local and national magazines and press with news stories from our estate. We also work closely with a number of reputable partner organisations such as Bridebook, Hitched, Venue Directory and Visit Nottinghamshire.
We are a close-knit Events team whose collaborative experience, imagination and heart make Norwood Park feel like home with warm and personal service.

The most regular feedback from our clients always focuses on either the beautiful architecture and interiors of our venue, the friendliness of our team or the fabulous food cooked by our talented chefs.
The Starkey family have lived at Norwood Park since the 1880s when they purchased the property. The Estate today consists of a public golf course, fruit farms and a successful juicing company, as well as the Main House. The family still treasure the memories of their family home and uses the property for their own private occasions.
On a day-to-day basis, you may get the opportunity to come across Sir John Starkey (The Owner) who regularly visits as well as his four children; Suzannah, Henry, Elizabeth and Kate.
